A PRODUCTIVE START TO CHART NEW HORIZONS; A REPORT ON THE FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 2025 LOCAL ORGANISATION (LO) YEAR.

    The first General Assembly of the 2025 Local Organisation (LO) year, under the leadership of Taiwo Olanlesi Odusote, Local Organization President, was successfully held on May 4th, 2025, at the Faculty of Technology Lecture Theater, University of Ibadan.


    The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including JCI Senator Dayo-Niyi Idowu, the personality guest and 1997 president of JCIN UI and JCI Senator Adeyemo Adeonipekun, the guest trainer and 2015 president of JCI Lagos Metropolitan. Their participation underscored the significance of the general assembly and provided valuable insights for the members.


    Other notable attendees included JCIN Councillor Idowu Emmanuel (2023 JCIN UI EVP male), Falope oluwafunmike Oluwabukunmi (General Legal counsel, JCIN The Polytechnic Ibadan), Akinwande AbdulSamad (2022 JCIN UI EVP male), Orimogunje Josephine (Collegiate Vice Chairperson) and esteemed alumni Mariam Amuda and Adegunju Adewale Emmanuel.


    A key focus of the General Assembly was the insightful addresses delivered by the dignitaries. JCI Senator Dayo-Niyi Idowu commended the local organization for its continued prominence within the University of Ibadan, reflecting on its distinguished history. JCI Senator Adeyemo Adeonipekun delivered an engaging training session emphasizing the crucial roles of teamwork and members’ intentionality. He highlighted the importance of the “JCI action framework” for effective planning, particularly for board members, while stressing that the active involvement of all members is vital to the organization’s success.


    The assembly also featured the presentation of the Plans of Action by the Local Organisation President, the Directorate of Induction, the Directorate of Growth and Retention, and the Chairperson of a key community project. A significant aspect of the meeting was the election and subsequent swearing-in of the disciplinary committee for the Local Organization year.


    The first General Assembly for the 2025 LO year proved to be a productive and impactful event with a strong turnout of members, setting a positive tone for the 2025 LO year. The knowledge shared and the engagement of the members present also suggested a promising trajectory for the Local Organisation.
