The Junior Chamber International Nigeria, University of Ibadan (JCIN UI), experienced a significantly refreshing day on September 27th, 2025, as they welcomed an esteemed alumnus, Prof. Taiwo Ande (1990 President, JCIN UI). The highly anticipated reunion took place at the JCIN UI secretariat, generating palpable excitement among current members.

The interactive session served as a powerful bridge connecting the local organisation’s rich past with its ambitious future. Key figures from the current leadership were present, including the Local Organisation President, Taiwo Olanlesi Odusote, Al-Awal Abdul-Rahman (Executive Vice President External), and other influential directors like Quayyum Lawal (Director of Fifteen Outstanding Persons’ Award, FOPA), Yusrah Majolagbe (Editor-in-chief), Josephine Adigun (Director of Social and Welfare) alongside a newly inducted member, Favour Awolola.

Prof. Taiwo Ande’s address was a resounding testament to the local organisation’s potential, based on the impact the local organisation has made over the years and its intending plans as well. The 1990 President took time to offer profound encouragement, commending the current membership for their stellar dedication and positive community impact. He also reinforced his message with motivational words, leaving a refreshing sentiment that energized the gathered leaders and members.

Known for his engaging and lighthearted approach, Prof. Taiwo Ande, described by those present as a “very jovial past president” , ensured the meeting was far from a static one. His ability to blend serious organizational strategy with a lighthearted dialogue and humour fostered a dynamic and interesting atmosphere at the JCIN UI secretariat. Prof. Taiwo Ande’s return successfully reinforced the continuous legacy of leadership and community impact that JCIN UI strives to maintain. The current leadership is now poised to leverage this momentum and inspiration as they prepare to keep the standard and chart new horizons.
