LBIFD is an annual debate competition in honour of Dr.Lanre Bello, the Charter President of JCIN, UI. Since its inception,LBIFD has focused on improving public speaking prowess of bright minds in the University of Ibadan (UI) while constructively arguing and providing solutions for national and international issues. Every year, speakers representing their faculties mount the stage to critically analyse and debate on issues before carefully and thoroughly selected judges. LBIFD now in its 12th year has grown in quality and intensity and now boasts to be one of the biggest public speaking events in UI. This public speaking competition is between all 16 faculties in the University of Ibadan.This 12th edition, which held on the 1st of April 2023, incorporated an oratory contest along with the debate competition. With representatives from all 16 faculties, the Faculty of Arts emerged as the winning faculty.
