The assembly was called to order promptly at 2:10 PM by the Local Organisation President, Taiwo Olanlesi Odusote and was graced by a distinguished lineup of dignitaries. Among those present were JCI Sen. Samuel Olawale Wahab (2005 President, JCI Eko), JCIN Amb. Hassan Kafidipe (2025 NVP Southwest District 2, JCI Nigeria), JCIN Amb. Olajumoke Adelabu (2025 President, JCI Ibadan), JCIN Amb. Adeola Adelabu (2021 President, JCI Ibadan) and JCIN Cllr. Ojo Waheed (2023 President, JCIN UI). A cornerstone of the GA was the thought-provoking address by the theme speaker, JCI Sen. Olawale Wahab. He provided a compelling overview of JCIN’s journey, acknowledging both its triumphs and challenges since inception. JCI Sen.Wahab’s key message resonated deeply: to chart a new and successful course, JCIN UI must meticulously define both short-term and long-term goals. He passionately stressed the importance of unity and collaboration, likening JCIN UI to a family that must stand together in fulfilling its duties. He further urged all members to cultivate an unwavering passion for JCIN UI’s objectives, asserting that true progress is only achievable when its members seize the opportunities for self-betterment. Concluding with a resounding vote of confidence, he expressed his conviction in JCIN UI’s bright future and its readiness to forge new paths of progress.

The stream of impact continued with an engaging panel session titled “Beyond the Classroom: Mastering Success in the Real World.” The panel session featured three distinguished panelists: Mr. Fashola Olaniyi (2022 General Legal counsel, JCIN UI), Miss Oladokun Deborah (President of the Student Finance Club, UI) and JCIN Cllr. Afolabi Nasurudeen (2019 EVP Male, JCIN UI). They are experts and well-versed in technology, business, and the corporate world, sharing invaluable insights into navigating the complexities of real-world success. They recounted personal journeys and candidly discussed the challenges faced and achievements celebrated. They also offered practical tips for personal and brand growth, placing significant emphasis on the cultivation of strong connections and meaningful friendships.

Adding a vibrant touch to the cool ambiance of the General Assembly, members arrived proudly representing their various family colors. This splash of diversity showcased the unity and camaraderie within JCIN UI and truly embodying the spirit of a united family. The success of the event was further strengthened by the generous support of UAC Foods Limited, whose sponsorship ensured the comfort of our members by providing sufficient snacks and bottled water throughout the GA making it a lovely and memorable experience.

The GA concluded on a high note with a thrilling raffle draw, rewarding punctual attendees and other lucky winners with exciting prizes. The President’s final encouragement for members to fully engage in the week’s activities was met with palpable anticipation. With such a fulfilling and dynamic start, JCIN UI members and observers alike are eagerly looking forward to a week of empowerment, learning, and meaningful engagement as the chapter celebrates its 42-year legacy and decisively charts a new path ahead.
