Dear Diary,
Despite the flurry of commitments that weighed down Day Four, I knew I couldn’t afford to miss what the evening promised. The day was a whirlwind — a group presentation, an unforgiving assignment for EME 305 (Accounting for School Management), and the intricate demands of crafting a cash book, ledger and trial balance. By the time I closed my laptop and dusted off my calculator, the clock had already stolen precious minutes from the scheduled 6:00 PM movie night.
Eventually, I managed to break free and raced to the Law Lecture Theatre around 7:00 PM. To my surprise, the hall was empty. A quick check on my phone revealed a venue change to the LLR. With the last of my day’s energy, I made my way there and was warmly welcomed by a few familiar board members. I soon found Miss Adedayo, the ever-composed JCIN UI Week Chairperson, who directed me to the representative recording attendance for those who had paid for the movie night.

Upon stepping into the hall, I was immediately immersed in a scene already in motion. The movie had begun, the lights were dimmed, and the projector cast dramatic scenes across the screen, enhanced by a crisp sound system. I found a seat midway—close enough to catch every detail, yet far enough to take in the whole room’s ambience.
Curious, I leaned toward the person beside me to ask about the movie title. “Gorge,” they whispered. It turned out to be a gripping tale of two characters drawn together across great distances, eventually finding themselves in a perilous place ravaged by animal attacks. The setting was raw, intense — a chilling throwback to real events from the 1990s where many lives were lost. It was this eerie backdrop that gave the movie its title.

Naturally, the event team didn’t let the ambiance down either. To elevate the cinematic experience, we were treated to crunchy popcorn and a delightful cocktail drink — a perfect pairing for the immersive storytelling on screen. Meanwhile, our beloved photographer was ever-present, capturing every fleeting moment with precision. Each snapshot a memory, each frame a testament to the joy, laughter, and reflective gazes that danced in the glow of the projector light.
I had to leave by 8:30 PM, and as I made my way home, I carried with me not just the movie’s haunting imagery but a sense of serenity—a brief, beautiful pause in an otherwise chaotic day.

So, as I tucked away the night’s memory, my mind fluttered with curiosity: what could Day Five possibly have in store? With every passing day, JCIN UI Week continues to build momentum—and I, for one, am eager to see where it all leads next.
