The Officers Training School (OTS) for JCIN UI’s new board was held on February 25th and 26th, 2022 at the Educational Advancement Centre. The theme of the training was “Leadership Today: Inspiring Legacy for the Future.” The training began each day with team bonding exercises facilitated by Mr. David Lawal to encourage collaboration and warm up for the day’s activities.
On the first day, Oyindamola Abdulfatai, a former member of the organization and the 2019 President of the Law Students’ Society, delivered a training session on “Effective Proposal Writing and Sponsorship.” She provided a step-by-step process for writing proposals and seeking sponsorship, drawing from her own experience to provide practical examples.
Later in the day, the National President, JCIN AMB. Olawale Bakare, and Executive Vice President South West, JCIN AMB. Toyin Atanda, joined the board virtually for a fireside chat.
After a mid-afternoon lunch break, JC Goodness Morakinyo, the 2022 President of JCI Ibadan Elite and Founder of Valencia Schools, conducted a training session on “Essential Leadership Skills and Good Work Ethics.” This session included insightful stories from the trainer’s experiences to emphasize key points.
The second day followed a similar structure. The first training was a Microsoft Presentation/Design session facilitated by Ayobami Adeolu, a UI/UX Designer and Special Assistant to the 2022 National President of JCI Nigeria. This was followed by a break and lunch.
The next trainer, JC Abdulazeez Oladejo, a Product Manager and Chief Executive Assistant to the 2022 National President of JCI Nigeria, explained the new direction of JCI as an organization and elaborated on the One Legacy mandate at the National level.
The OTS concluded with a Paint & Chill Session where board members had the opportunity to engage in a painting activity while enjoying light refreshments. The two-day training was considered memorable and impactful for the participants, leaving a lasting impression. Certificates were presented to the board members at the end of the program.
