From General Assembly to Y2K Vibes — A Week of Purpose, Power, and Play. What happens when a Family General Assembly collides with leadership masterclasses, a movie night, a games night, a football match, and a retro-themed party? You get a remarkable and unforgettable experience: JCIN UI Brand Week 2025.
Held from June 15 to June 21, this year’s Brand Week was themed “42 Years in the Spotlight: Charting the Path Ahead.” And indeed, it delivered seven days of purpose, presence, and vibrant engagement as members of Junior Chamber International Nigeria, University of Ibadan (JCIN UI) came together to celebrate identity, strengthen bonds, and invest in growth — both personal and collective.

For day one, the brand week kicked off with a spirited General Assembly, where members showed up dressed in JCIN UI branded merchandise, each family unit representing their identity through color: from Taiwo Ande in green to Kunle Oyesanya in purple and more. The atmosphere was both familial and symbolic, setting a strong tone of unity and pride.

On Day 2, the first development session, “Timeless Leadership: Cultivating Franklin’s Thirteen Virtues,” featured powerful teachings on character, intentionality, and legacy. Attendees were reminded that impact begins with virtue and that “there is wisdom in silence.”

For day 3, the conversation continued with “Smart Money Moves: Financial Planning and Goal Setting” hosted by financial literacy advocate, Damilola David Olunuga. Participants learned that financial structure is intentional and that “your money will go somewhere if you don’t tell it where to go.”

Midweek calm came in the form of Movie Night, where members gathered to watch “The Gorge’, a romantic thriller, in the cozy setting of Law Lecture Room (LLR) Complete with popcorn and mocktails, the evening offered much-needed relaxation and conversation.

On brand week day 5, members gathered virtually for a night of fun and competitive spirit, participating in trivia, challenges, and laughter-filled games that fostered connection even across screens.
Day 6 was a football match between JCIN UI alumni Vs Members. The energy surged again with a friendly football match at Awo Stadium, where JCIN UI male members faced off against alumni in a competitive but goalless draw. The change of formation by the JCI members in the second half brought intensity back into the match and the cheering crowd, light refreshments from UAC Foods, and presence of the president made the day even more remarkable.

Finally, the week closed in grand style with the Y2K Party, hosted at the Fishery Department Car Park. Attendees embraced early 2000s fashion, danced for over an hour, and relished every throwback beat the DJ dropped. Karaoke, riddles, family presentations, and recognitions added richness to the celebration. It was nostalgic, chaotic, and pure joy — a fitting end to an unforgettable week.

From thought-provoking leadership sessions to belly-aching laughter during games and the unfiltered joy of Y2K nostalgia, Brand Week 2025 was a blend of learning, leadership, and legacy-building.
In one word? Blissful.
